Rice Medical Group was founded in 2003 by Howard L. Rice M.D. with the vision of creating a medical practice that treats every patient with dignity and first-rate care. The office staff at Rice Medical Group are highly-trained and exceptionally friendly. We understand that for many, visiting a doctor can be a stressful experience. Howard L. Rice, M.D. Howard L. Rice, M.D. was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a minor in Biology from the University of Tulsa in 1985. At the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine he initially focused on graduate studies in Biochemistry and Biophysics before completing his medical degree from PENN in 1994. Moving west to Stanford University, he completed both a residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Infectious Diseases. Dr. Rice was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1997 and received board certification in Infectious Diseases in 2001. Dr. Rice is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America, the HIV Medicine Association, the American Society of Microbiology, the International Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, the International Society of Travel Medicine, the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, and serves on the board of directors for the Silicon Valley AIDS Leadership Center. In his spare time, Dr. Rice enjoys playing classical guitar, Japanese gardening and bonsai, and walks along the beach with his chocolate labrador "Cody." |
